D17 - EXAM
SSM UNITED - SHIP MANAGEMENT - MARITIME TRAINING CENTRE
The course meets the requirements of the STCW Convention section A-V1 / 2 and is based on the IMO 1.23 specification. It is intended for all sailors who are in the duty of knowledge to manage different types of rescue boats.
After successfully completing the course, the students will be trained for handling and monitoring during or after the boat launch in the sea and its management.
Course content:
- Marine situations requiring urgent action;
- Use of open, fully enclosed and rescue boats and their landing gear;
- Use and assembly of life-saving equipment, including electronic equipment;
- Organization and procedures of search and rescue actions;
- Recuperation of staff in water;
- Psychology.
Duration: 3 days
Course requirements:
- Personal identity card or passport
- 1 personal photo
- 6 months of certified navigation
Note: After successful completion of the course and exam in Port Authority, candidates will receive a certificate D17 - "Proficiency in Survival Craft and Rescue Boat" issued by Croatian Ministry of the Sea, Transport and Infrastructure.

To apply for an exam in Port Authority, please deliver the following documents to the Training Center Secretariat:
- Copy of an ID (both sides)
- 1 personal photography
- Document of 6 month navigation
- Reneview stamps in equivalent of 35,00 HRK
- Exam payment
- Course payment
